Thanksgiving Outreach Meal COVID Style

Updated: Jan 16, 2021

This year our Thanksgiving community dinner was a bit different due to COVID restrictions.

Normally for Thanksgiving Source Church and their outreach teams, Bay Tree Ministry and Source of Hope Soup Kitchen get the community building at Bay Tree decorated and prepared for a wonderful community dinner together. This year we are unable to do the sit-down delicious linen tablecloth Thanksgiving dinner, as in years before, but we were still able to feed our friends a wonderful individually packaged meal for the holiday.

Soup Kitchen volunteers prepped, cooked, and packaged salads and a delicious Shredded Turkey with veggies, home-made mashed potatoes, and stuffing. Bay Tree Ministry volunteers put together some bags with cute home-made tags that had some sweet treats and carried their meal. Some of the bakers from Source Church baked pumpkin bread for dessert. Once everything was put together the delivery team went out and delivered the meals to the 40- community members of Bay Tree.

After feeding the Bay Tree community we still had plenty of food leftover, so we took it over to Dare Challenge for the mighty men there to enjoy.

From the beginning to the end of this outreach we were blessed! Blessed to have received food donations to make this meal possible, Blessed to have volunteers with servant hearts for their neighbors, brothers, and sisters. Glory be to God for allowing us to participate in the lives of such wonderful people.
